Northern Pullers Safety Rules and Regulations 2007, but adopted in 2005
1. Tractors can be 1967 or older and continuous production models 40 year rule is in effect.
2. The driver must be weighed with the tractor the day of the pull on the same scale as their competitors.
3. If anything falls from the tractor while hooked to the skid, the tractor will be disqualified.
4. No entries will be accepted after the cut off time for weigh-in, unless preregistered. A ten ($10) surcharge for non-member experienced pullers will be accessed for each weight class.
5. Limit each tractor to a maximum of 3 weight classes or (2 classes at Sponsors Request)
6. No Alcohol consumption by participants until after the event is complete.
7. If the judges believe any driver to be a potential safety hazard such driver may be barred from the contest.
8. Tractor and skid must remain within the boundaries of the course during the pull, or distance will be marked at point of exit.
9. Tractors will be scored by distance pulled.
10. Drawbar maximum height 20 inches from the ground to top of hooking point and at least 18 inches from rear of draw pin hole to center of axle. all drawbars must be in a fixed position.
11. Only one pull is allowed each tractor per class. Pull is ended when tractor engine stalls or for ward motion stops. No jerking or hole digging will be allowed.
12. Contest to be governed by judges with all decisions final. Judges have the right to stop and or disqualify and contestant’s tractor if it is being operated in an unsafe manner. (No popping clutch) The front wheels of the tractor must be no higher than 18 inches off the ground from beginning to end of pull. (Must have a ball and cable attachment to display height. If the ball leaves the ground the forward progress will be marked at that point.
13. No driver under 18 years of age will be permitted to participate without the parents written consent and must be accustom and proficient in the operation of that particular tractor to be allowed to pull. No supervision allowed on the track.
14. All contestants enter at their own risk.
15. Operator must remain seated during his or her pull, and have one hand on the steering wheel, clutch, or brake at all times during the pull.
16. The governor must be intact and in operative order. “No by passed governors. RPM no more than 20% over Nebraska tests, or factory specification.
17. All tractors must have all wheels and working brakes.
18. If two or more tractors in a class pull all the way out the end of the track or have exact pulling distance, those tractors will re-pull for placing.
19. Protests can be lodged by a puller in that class or the track judge only.
20. Tire size limited to two face sizes over factory option specifications 12 X?, 13.5 X ?, and 15.5 X? Will be considered the same tire size.
21. Tractors must have stock appearing frames, transmissions, rear end and axle housing or manufacturer’s replacement for that family of tractor.
22. Weights: Furthest most point cannot be more than 11 feet forward from center of rear axle.
23. All the rules will be in effect for 5 years(2010) except for safety concerns Except the Turbo class
Antique Improved Rules 2007
1. Tractors built 1965 and older and continued production models of 1965. Must pull no faster than 5 MPH. distance will be marked at 2nd horn sound.
2. Only stock water injection will be allowed. Dual wheels, 4 wheel drive, turbos, water and L.P. injection and the use of T/A or speed shifting will not be allowed.
